My second “Active Design” Mural for the NY Dept of Health and Creative Artworks. The mural was designed in collaboration with ten 3rd graders at PS86 in Bushwick, and was painted in the school cafeteria with the help of 5 youth apprentices. To research for the design, the youth interviewed the staff and students of the school and spent the following two weeks learning about color theory, pattern making, and composition. The final design combines elements of nature and geometry to create a dynamic composition that encourages movement and play.
