Finished collaboration with the incredible @freerolando For the WorldPride mural project at @wellingcourtmuralproject. Commemorating the 50th anniversary of #stonewall, this piece highlights @ashtonmota , one of many young activists following in the footsteps of Marsha P. Johnson. Zazu Nova, Jackie Hormona, and the other young black and latinx trans activists who led the Stonewall riots 50 years ago and fought tirelessly for trans and LGBT rights. Mota, only 15, founded and leads his school’s GSA and served as co-chair of the Northeast Region Safe Schools Program. He was a strong supporter of the ‘Yes on 3’ Massachusetts campaign for transgender rights and he is a @humanrightscampaign Youth Ambassador. "Let me be clear: Transgender people are not a burden. We are not an issue or a problem that needs to be handled. We are the soul of the earth & we make our communities better." - Ashton Mota
